Odessa resident Nastia Balaban will represent Ukraine at the Youth Olympic Games
A slim girl who wrestles her opponents down – Anastasia Balaban from Odessa went to the III Youth Olympic Games as a member of the Ukrainian national team. This year the games are held in Buenos Aires (Brazil) and Nastia will be accompanied by her coach Kostantyn Tskhovrebashvili.
CO the Maxym Stepanov Foundation supported the young athlete and her team and facilitated their participation in the Olympics. After all, Anastasia Balaban, a pupil of the SC EUROPA, is only 16 years old. In spite of this, she already has the world awards – in 2017 she became the champion of Europe and the world among juniors. She also takes an honorable place in the ranking of judo in the weight category up to 40 kilograms.
Nastia is taking part in the Olympic Games for the first time and she notes that the responsibility and tension here is much greater than in judo competitions. Preparations for the Youth Olympic Games were tough and, according to the judoka, she had two workouts a day.
“For the first time I feel such support in competitions. Everyone is chanting “Ukraine!” – Anastasia Balaban sincerely shared her emotions from the Olympic Games and added that she was aiming for a gold medal.
