International Music Festival of Classical Music, which is annually held in Odessa.
The Foundation has been supporting the festival for 3 years in a row and it is the general partner of some events — Open Air and the All-Ukrainian Competition for Young Pianists named after Seraphima Mogylevska.
150 musicians from different countries and 20,000 spectators
Odessa Classics is a European-level music festival that brings together modern stars on one stage. The purpose of the large-scale festival is to acquaint the Ukrainian listener with elite art and the best performers. During the last 5 years, more than 20 world-class virtuosos have performed on the festival stages, such as violinist Daniel Hope, cellist Jing Zhao, cellist Mischa Maisky or violinist Robbie Lakatosh.
OPEN AIR is an annual concert on the Potemkin Stairs of Odessa. The event for all the residents and guests of the city. Cult orchestras and ensembles, such as the Zurich Chamber Orchestra, guest stars and young pianists, play on one stage. Special numbers, arrangements and new readings of classical works are prepared for the program. More than 10,000 spectators attended the 2019 concert.
The pianist competition is a special event of the festival. First of all, this is the only competition of this scale in Ukraine. An international jury, who can rarely be seen at other events in Ukraine, gather specially for it. Secondly, the winner of the competition has the opportunity to perform at the Open Air concert – together with world-famous stars. More than 30 children from different cities of the country took part in the 2019 competition.
